Happy First Day of Autumn!!!
Wow!! Where does the time go?? It has been a fantastic week of juicing for me :) Last week I had a day of greens, watermelon, and pineapple, the perfect ingredients for releasing inflamation. Today my green juice was a combination of dandelion (a great detoxer), kale, lettuce, celery, spinach, beet greens, ginger, and apples. I mean, I went hog wild just grabbing anything green I could get my hands on from the fridge!! Oh, and I even threw in 1/2 a cucumber that had been in there for a while. The end result was an amazing juicy green concoction which sent my cells to orbit and back!
So here on my 2nd week of juicing really loving it. Especially since to date, I have lost 9.5 lbs!! Yippee! Lost 8lbs the first week and 1.5 lbs from yesterday to today.
I have tried to take a few walks, even if my Juice Feaster Guru (Angela Stokes) says you should not start exercising till day 45 - I just can't stay away from the beautiful scenery I live in here in Topanga. Besides, my walks are basically nice strolls, nothing too strenuous.
This weekend however, I did sort of overdo it physically. On Saturday I participated in the Coastal Clean Up here for Heal The Bay in Santa Monica, so I was constantly bending down picking up debris, cigarette buts, little bits of wrappers and plastic, bottle caps, etc. Needless to say I am STILL sore! Mostly my legs got it the worst. But it actually felt good to exert some dormant tissue! LOL...also, on Sunday I spent the day walking around and participating in the Day of Peace on the Santa Monica Pier. By Sunday night I was exhausted!!
Everything is going great! Last night I went over to celebrate my dear friend Cris' birthday and instead of cake we had an amazing carrot, apple, ginger juice!! She is also working on streamlining her figure. What a treat that was...we watched Dancing With The Stars on a wide screen in the rec room of her apt building and sipped our juice ;) It was awesome!
Today's juices:
The Green concoction
Beet/Carrot/Apple
Peach
More Green Juice
Spirulina w/coconut oil
Yummies!
Have a WONDERFUL First day of FALL, :D

92 Day Juice Feast - Day 2
Good evening - well - at least it's evening here in SoCal. The crickets are chirping, and I just came back from a nice brisk walk with my recent favorite companion, Topanga, the chow retreiver mix who belongs to my roommates :) Her excitement to go for a romp motivates me to get out and breath this fragrant country air! I felt energized as I visualized my desired body and improved physical abilities.
The scale said I lost 3.5 lbs today. Not bad for my first day of feasting on fresh fruit and vegetable juices. I am still having food cravings, mostly popcorn. One compulsive behaviour which I plan to transition out of. The triggers to eat are frequent. Anything from watching a video to good news, to stress, to feeling tired...all emotional triggers to eat. However, I am on a juice feast and remembered the oh so popular quote "nothing tastes as good as thin feels". Who wrote that anyway?
Today I woke up feeling very "dense". It helped to have a stimulating conversation with my roommate and later take in a nice guided meditation. My journal also got a healthy entry this morning. I wondered though, why I felt so heavy. Was it emotional? Was it changes in my body? A detoxing symptom? I had no desire to get up out of bed. Weird. Maybe I need to get to bed earlier. I didn't retire till 1:11 am last night.
The weather has been divine! Crisp and invigorating. It really helped snap me out of my morning stupor. After my green juice and later peach juice I felt renwed and ready to MOVE.
Today's menu was:
My special hot lemonade: lemon, olive oil, sea salt, apple cider vinegar, hot water
Morning Green Juice: celery, beet greens, red leaf lettuce, apple, ginger
maca, bee pollen, hemp oil (20 oz.)
Spirulina Flakes with olive oil & apple cider vinegar
Peach/Apple Juice (12 oz.)
Beet/Carrot/Apple/Ginger Juice (20 oz.)
Green Juice: same as above w/out the superfoods & oil
Cup of Rose Hip tea w/agave
So there is Day 2 of my new adventure!
Thanks for reading :)
Cheers, :D

92 Day Juice Feast - Day 1
Well hello everyone!
Here I am FINALLY embarking on yet another amazing Juice Feast. I must say, I have, as Oprah said at the beginning of the year, fallen off the wagon. In fact I've been rolling around in the dirt for a while too! Yeah, the move to a knew place, less space, no place to put my produce, delay in setting up my juicer, financial crunches...all let to dropping the ball on juice feasting.
So, that's all in the past now and I have finally put my foot down to entering into optimum health again. For the most part I stayed within a raw food diet, but there were days when I totally crumbled and gave in to cravings. However, NOW, I bought a little fridge all to myself, my finances are steadier, and my juicer has found a new home...so HERE I GO!!
I've been noodling around in The Juice Feasting website created by David Rainocheck (see link below). I feel like I probably need a coach at this point so I think I may invest in one of their plans.
Today I had:
Upon Rising -
hot water w/ lemon, sea salt, olive oil, apple cider vinegar (Yummy!)
This is to cleanse and detox the liver and bowels. Yay!
Breakfast - around 12 noon - lol (I wasn't hungry until then)
1 green juice: (20 oz)
2 apples
6 celery stalks
a big handful of spinach
1" pc of ginger
2 hrs later -
1 pinapple juice: 1 whole pineapple (20 oz)
1 hr later -
2 tbs. spirulina flakes w/1 tbsp olive oil & lemon
8pm later -
1 cantaloupe juice: 1 small cantaloupe (20 oz)
10 pm
1 green juice: (as above 20 oz)
I've gone to the bathroom a lot - eliminating liquids - the pineapple is an anti-inflamatory. Eliminating wastes very nicely ;)
I only felt a little bloating and discomfort around 7:30- 8:00pm - Liver and gall bladder are detoxing!
I also had a cup of Ginger and a cup of Rose Hip tea - each with a tbs. of Agave Necatar :) The temperatures dropped today here in SoCal and I even had to turn on my little heater! Yay! No more hot summer sweating (I live in the country and this house does not have AC!). I will sleep nicely tonight as the air is much crisper.
As soon as I felt hungry I would have a juice. Prepared them in advance this morning and kept them in glass bottles with lids in the fridge. Prior to today, I had been having popcorn almost everyday (home made with coconut oil) so I sort of missed that. When I'd get a craving for food, I remembered I was on a juice feast and just grabbed a juice from the fridge! Yay!
So that was Day 1 of my new Juice Feast. I thought I would wait and record a video only after a week of the Feast, but I wanted to be able to capture the visual of my progress, so I just recorded a clip which I probably won't upload until I've uploaded all the other videos from my last juice feast! LOL
I'll be back tomorrow to record my thoughts and juices.
See you then, :Damaris
